About Rebecca’s

Rebecca’s opened in 2002 when Rebecca returned home to the South after living in New York and California where she worked in the film and TV industry.

A love for things handcrafted and custom, Rebecca opened a furniture store offering product created primarily by her father’s plant in Alabama. Rebecca’s continues to offer these one-of-a-kind pieces off the floor as well as working with customers to create pieces that specifically suit their needs and desires.

Recently, with our move to downtown Franklin, we’ve added several lines of furniture and upholstery to the mix. The upholstery is benchmade and the customer has a variety of fabrics from which to choose. Home accents offered include lighting, bedding, and fabric.

“My dad’s love of antiques led him to restoring antique tables and, then, eventually, creating reproduction tables in the late sixties. The plant grew to about 100 employees and the furniture was sold through the trade only. I was always fascinated with the furniture plant when I was young. The rows and rows of chairs and tables, ready to be packed and shipped, made an impact on me. I loved that these stacks of wood became pieces of furniture. I’ve always had this Warhol fascination with manufacturing and reproduction…. By the time I was ten years old, I had been to every continental state with my parents on antique buying trips! We weren’t allowed to have any furniture in the house that wasn’t an antique…today, I think people want their furniture to look like it has a heritage (distressed!) but they also want it to function like a new piece in that they don’t have to worry about damage done from too many late-night homework sessions.“

“I hope to continue to grow our brand through the design and production of additional furniture pieces as well as continue to seek other exceptional manufacturers who share our same desires for quality and style.”
